Not often thought of as a couple's toy, cockrings are actually the perfect addition to partner play. Using a cockring together brings benefits to both partners some cockrings were even designed with specific features to ensure both partners experience pleasure, such as a vibrating bullet.
Biology Lesson
When a man gets an erection, blood rushes quickly to his penis. Cockrings restrict blood from flowing out of the erect penis, which creates a pleasurable sensation of tightness, prolongs the erection, increases sensitivity and can sometimes delay ejaculation. Some people think that cockrings make their penises look larger; although that's not entirely true at least, in a permanent sense a penis engorged with blood does appear larger than a flaccid penis.
Kinds of Cockrings
Cockrings are available in a number of different materials, styles and sizes:
- Erection Keeper: A simple single or double band, erection keepers are aptly named?they extend the duration of the erection by preventing blood from flowing out of the penis. Good for beginners.
- Cock Strap: Perfect for beginners, this adjustable strap fastens behind the scrotum and over the top of penis. Usually made of Leather
- Solid Ring: Made of plastic, rubber or metal, the solid ring fits over your penis and testicles. Rings aren't adjustable, so the only way to remove a ring after you've achieved erection is to ejaculate or allow your erection to subside. Not for beginners.
- Testicle Toys: Testicle spreaders and stretchers are a series of straps and/or bands that involve the testicles in cock-and-ball play.
- Vibrating Cockring: Usually a simple band made of jelly or realistic materials, vibrating rings have a battery-operated component designed to provide stimulus at the base of the penis. Vibrating rings can produce erotic stimulation when used alone; with a partner, they also give anal or clitoral stimulation to your partner.
You might also try cockring sets, which are designed to provide stimulation at different parts of the penis and testicles.
Putting it On
Most men find it easiest to put on a cockring when their penis is semi- to fully erect; when flaccid, the cockring can slip out at an inconvenient time. You may wish to shave or trim the area so you don't yank any hair while putting on your cockring; lube can also help.
Cockrings for Two
Although cockrings are fun for solo use when masturbating, they work wonderfully with a partner, especially if you use a vibrating toy, which will provide intense pleasure to your partner's clitoris or anus during penetration. For more intense sensations for the receiving partner, have him or her take the dominant position during intercourse, which will allow the partner on top to use his or her body weight to increase or decrease the intensity of the vibrations. Cockrings are also welcome additions to fellatio: another effect of restricting the flow of blood from leaving the penis is increased sensitivity.
Health & Safety Concerns
Don't wear your cockring too long, no more than a half hour at the most. Remove it as soon as it begins to feel uncomfortable. When using a condom with your erection ring, put the condom on first and then the ring second.
Do not use cockrings if you are taking anticoagulants or if you bleed easily, have a blood-clotting disorder, are diabetic or suffer from any vascular or nerve disorder. If you experience any discomfort or unusual conditions bruising, pain, bleeding, loss of sensation remove the toy. See your doctor if the problem persists.
